Day 14-Weight-Hello all!!! I have not been really staying structured as I am supposed to regarding my weight. I am not discouraged but I am not giving it my all. Lately, I have not been getting a lot of sleep and I am working a lot so I believe I may be getting burned out. Once I slow down I believe I will be able to rest my mind and focus on really doing the right thing! Also, who am I kidding it is the holiday. I want to eat!!! No worries, I am not going to lose focus on what I really need to accomplish in this area and telling you all my business helps me a lot.
Day 14-Walk- I said my morning prayer and I studied 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 and it says, "16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." This took real meaning for me today. I got some disappointing news today and of course was hurt by it. But reading this scripture really put things in perspective for me. We are not to lose heart. So just because today was disappointing does not mean my whole life is. We may be wasting away on the outside but inwardly we are being developed. I am able to learn to trust and depend on God for all things in life. Each day I am getting stronger and stronger spiritually. For the troubles we are experiencing are short. They are not going to last that long. And I am learning that everything that looks bad does not always mean bad. So it is important that I continue to fix my eyes on the eternal things I don't see and not on the temporal things I do see. So for me I have to change my thoughts not to focus on this world but on what God is doing in my life.
Day 14- Wins-Today I thought positive although my emotions were hurting. My husband and I followed through on something together. I remained a peacemaker today. I listened to someone today that I have had issues with in the past. I got through a hard day! I cried out to God today.
Trials and tribulations are inevitable. Trusting in God will always allow you to be strengthened and know that this too shall pass. Don't ever lose sight of what God has for you. Nothing in life is failure. Everything is by God's design. Embrace it. Believe it. Live it. Let God lead the way and remember the 3 w's are worth working for. Have a great evening.

My Weight, My Walk, My Wins!: Day 13-All Things Will Be Revealed

Day 13-All Things Will Be Revealed

Menu-Breakfast-Skipped Not Good!
Mid Morning Snack-Strawberry and Banana Light Yogurt
Lunch-Baked Chicken, dressing, mac n cheese, zucchini and squash
Snack-Oatmeal Creme Pie
Dinner-Same as lunch with cornbread and potato salad
Water
Day 13-Weight-You know I have said it once and I am going to say it again. Do not skip breakfast!!! There was no real reason why I should have even missed breakfast because I had it all packed up, but when I got to work instead of eating I began working. And just plain forgot. But I was hungry the entire day and ate more than I needed to. Shame on me!! So, back to the drawing board!
Day-13 Walk-There was many challenges today. I prayed this morning to God to set the atmosphere for me today. I felt the need to have His whole armor around me today. The Word was rich too. I read Romans 5:1-5 and it says, " 1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[b] boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we[c] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us." This was so good! We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Peace. So many people long for this in their lives. No matter what, through Jesus, we have it!!! By faith we have gained access into this grace. We are so blessed!! Just by believing (faith), grace abounds with us. It will follow us and with the way things are going in this world, we need God's grace. We Glory in God and in sufferings! Sufferings! Really? We Glory in hard times and trials, when people hurt us and when things go wrong? Yes we do! Because we know that suffering produces perseverance. That means you will never stop trying to live right as it pleases God!! You will never stop believing. And because you will never stop believing your perseverance will produce character. You will learn to honor God. You will learn to forgive. You will learn to be meek. You will learn to be kind. You will learn to love unconditionally!! And this will produce faith! Because when you get through all of these things you will know that only God could have done it. So when you begin to feel stressed out! Remember, this scripture and how blessed we truly are. With that being said I had to use it today. I really believe there are some people that are planted in your life to help build your character. They will challenge you in ways you cannot imagine. You will be tested through and through, but eventually love will conquer all. Because love endures, but Satan does not. So he cannot outdo love!!! Love never fails!!!
Day 13-Wins! Today I kept my cool even though I was angry! I prayed for a friend’s granddaughter. I witnessed today. I did not hold a grudge today. I decided to write my blog tonight even though I was so tired! I took up for my daughter today. I learned a valuable lesson from God today. I forgave today. I sowed a seed of forgiveness today. I swallowed my pride today.

Even in challenging situations never give up!! God is developing who you are going to be. No matter what He is going to finish the work He started in you. And when you are ready to open your whole heart and mind to Him all things will be revealed to you. And when it is revealed you will know exactly how to handle it! Enjoy your evening and I look forward to our next encounter and remember the 3 w's are worth working for!!

Day 12-Weight-Hello all you "life-detectives"!!! Did you enjoy your weekend? I sure did. Guess what?!! I got off of my lazy tail and walked on Saturday. It was a 45 minute walk!! I was so excited. It felt good to get out there and accomplish this personal goal. My limbs were in a little pain, but I pressed on! For the remainder of the day I had energy and was enthusiastic.I was able to get through all of my tasks for the day!!
Day-12-Walk-Today I read James 1:2 which basically said to count it all joy when you are faced with many trials because you know the testing of your faith brings forth patience. Patience is so important with this walk. In order to use your faith you have to have patience, because faith is what you do not see. We have to patiently wait on God's time to work miracles in our life!
Day 12-Wins-Today I prayed this morning with my husband! I got through the day without falling asleep!
\Today was just a day of maintaining and not falling asleep because it was a busy weekend! Enjoy the rest of your day and remember, the 3w's are worth working for!

My Weight, My Walk, My Wins!: Day 9- Good Day

My Weight, My Walk, My Wins!: Day 9- Good Day: Menu-Breakfast- Was skipped. This is a NO NO!!! Lunch- Chik Fil A Chicken Sandwich Combo Meal w/ Waffle Fries and Medium Coke Zero!!  ...

Day 9- Good Day

Menu-Breakfast- Was skipped. This is a NO NO!!!
Lunch- Chik Fil A Chicken Sandwich Combo Meal w/ Waffle Fries and Medium Coke Zero!!
Dinner-Fat Matt's BBQ 4 ribs, individual mac n cheese and potato salad

Day 9-Weight-Well, the worse thing you can do when trying to lose weight is to skip any meal!! This is a big NO NO! Not only because it slows your metabolism but it seems to make you hungrier later which makes you over eat. Now I did not over eat, but I did not eat the right things. Live and learn I always say!!
Day 9-Walk-I was rushed this morning so I did not start my day with prayer as I should have. However, I do talk to God all day long so I never miss an opportunity to have a conversation with God. Today was a good day. I worked on projects at work using a new formula that I came up with for myself and it seemed to work. It is always great when something you create works out! I am taking the opportunity this weekend to catch up on cleaning and organizing and to come up with a work out plan for me to begin! It is truly time to go to the next level and I am ready!!
Day 9-Wins! -Today I accomplished completing more work, I discussed the Lord with someone today, I have not given up, I have worked on a plan to get my daughter on track at school, I took my weave out today and attempted to do my own hair!!! LOL!!! Keep praying for me!!

This was a short blog today because there just weren't that many details, however, there are so many things that I am working on so we will have plenty to talk about going forward. Enjoy your weekend!! And continue to try your best to live right, and no matter what the 3w's are worth working for!!!

Day 9-Blah

Menu-Breakfast-Oatmeal Crème Pie and 32 ozs of water
Lunch-Chili with crackers
Dinner-Chicken Sandwich Combo Meal
32 ozs of water
1 Chocolate Chip Cookie

Day 9-Weight- Hello all you life-detectives. So, there is not much to discuss today! I said my prayers this morning and went to work to start my day. I did not have much of an appetite. I just ate the crème pie around 9:00am. I did not even get to lunch until well after 2:00pm. I did not even get to eat dinner until close to 10pm. These are not good habits. This week I am working to get a meal plan going for next week. I am going to sort and separate measured planned meals and freeze them. I am going to cook all weekend long. We have a deep freezer that we had turned off for a long time because we have not had enough food to fill it. However, I am going to keep my cooked low calorie meals in there so that I have no opportunity to eat extra or bad. Not only that, just this week of bringing my lunch allowed me to have all of my allowance in my pocket. This allows me to have a little money to treat myself to something else instead of food. I told you I am very serious about losing weight this year by any means necessary!! I am also starting a workout schedule this weekend to do something simple and efficient for everyday of the week and relax on the weekend. I am also creating a schedule so that I am in the bed at a decent time everyday! When something doesn't work! Regroup!! But never give up!
Day 9-Walk- Today the Word was John 16 and basically Jesus said that there would be a time and it has already came when we would be scattered to our own home and leave Him all alone. He states not to worry about Him because he will not be alone because the Father will be with Him. He also said that He came to bring us peace but there will be many trials and tribulations in the world, but fear not we have already overcome this world. We have already overcome!!! That is incredible!!! Fear not Jesus overcame the world. We already have victory over this life!!!We have got to learn to trust God in all we do!! He is our strength, protection, shelter and peace in the midst of it all!! Tonight when I came home I was so tired and I had just worked a long day at work and I did not feel like writing tonight. But there is something about talking about God that just refreshes me. Now I find myself writing more and more but I am taking my time and not rushing. I find that His word is soothing and comforting and as I am writing to you I am feeling inspired myself!! I feel like I can conquer the world!! With Jesus all things are possible. There will be doubters, haters and imitators but remember God's love and your purpose and you can get through anything!!!
Day 9- Wins-I offered help to someone today. I praised God today! I laughed with my husband today! I encouraged my son today! I leaned on God today to fight temptations! I forgave someone today! I shared a testimony today! I listened to my daughter today.
You can learn something about life even in a blah day! Everyday might not be an adventure or exciting but just keep living! Your days of bliss are sure to come!!

My Weight, My Walk, My Wins!: Day 8-Learning Something New

My Weight, My Walk, My Wins!: Day 8-Learning Something New: Menu-Breakfast-Breakfast Sandwich with thin toast, 1 egg, 1 slice of cheese, 2 deli slices of ham Snack-Tangerine Lunch- 4ozs of Chili...

Day 8-Learning Something New

Menu-Breakfast-Breakfast Sandwich with thin toast, 1 egg, 1 slice of cheese, 2 deli slices of ham
Snack-Tangerine
Lunch- 4ozs of Chili with 8 crackers
Snack-Blackberries and handful of trail mix
Dinner-4ozs Philly Cheese steak
Dessert-Fruit Cocktail and Tangelo

Day8- Weight-Hello all you Life-detectives!! I hope you had a productive day!! I did. Today I was not as focused on my eating. I followed my meal plan today without feeling pressure or being tempted. This is a good thing. The only thing I am disappointed today about is that I did not exercise. I have got to find the motivation to start doing this.
Day 8- Walk-Today I started my day with prayer and of course my daily word. Today The Word came out of Matthew and it was about "Judge not, lest you be judged." Basically, the measure in which you judge someone will be the measure in which you are judged. It also talked about taking the speck out of your own eye before you talk about the speck of your brother's eye. Don't be a hypocrite! I meditated on this for a while. I realize it is so important not to judge people. I know I have been guilty of this in the past. If you and I were not on the same level I had nothing to do with you. I never had patience and if you had character issues I was out! I have known people who I truly feel like are hypocrites and far from the Lord. They have their Bibles and play their gospel music but they are the messiest people and the biggest busybodies I have ever seen!! However, as I continue to walk this walk I realize there is so much   to learn from all types of people. I know God is pleased when you look past the surface of people and really get to the core of who they are. I have been surrounded by all kinds of people and I appreciate the good and the bad. The good people around you remind you how important it is to be loved by someone. The bad people remind me not to take the good people for granted and to love them unconditionally. It is our job as God's children to get to the core of people and find beauty in all the ugliness you see. Try to be compassionate to people. Hurt people hurt people. So try to dig deep when dealing with challenging people. Today I learned something new. I learned that I have been blessed by people I least expected to be blessings in my life. If I was judgmental I would have never realized what benefit they have been! The people I expected to be there really disappointed me.
Day 8-Wins-I prayed for someone today. I went above and beyond for someone that needed me today. I ignored someone today that was trying to stir up mess. I kept control of my mouth today. I did not hold a grudge after my husband made me mad this morning. I learned something new at work. I pushed to finish the blog tonight.
Just know each day you can learn something from someone. Keep your mind open. Also be ready to be a blessing for someone in need. Always smile. Be blessed and remember the 3 w's are worth working for.

My Weight, My Walk, My Wins!: Day 7-Challenges

My Weight, My Walk, My Wins!: Day 7-Challenges: Menu-Today was just a day of munching on different things. I had no breakfast and I did not even eat lunch until well after 3:00pm. I was ...

Day 7-Challenges

Menu-Today was just a day of munching on different things. I had no breakfast and I did not even eat lunch until well after 3:00pm. I was extremely tired today as well. I munched on a tangerine, handful of cashews, handful of trail mix, I had a small (4 inch) Philly cheese steak, a 2 oz container of chili with 5 saltine crackers, and before I fell asleep tonight I had a chicken breast sandwich (just deli meat not an actual breast) with lettuce and tomatoes on thin sandwich bread.

Day 7 Weight -Hello to all of you life-detectives!!! Hope your day went well. My day was a little challenging. My lack of sleep and no exercise each day is beginning to take its toll on me. I started my day with prayer and the Word. Today the Word came out of Philippians Chapter 2 which said not to esteem yourself higher than others and not to do anything out of vain conceit. This scripture would require that you stay humble always. So for me, trying to lose this weight has been the most difficult challenge of my life. I started this blog because I needed to humble myself and realize I do not have the strength to lose weight on my own without the help of others. If you know my personality that in and of itself is loaded. Over the years it has taken a lot for me to admit this weakness.  Then one day an epiphany hit, if I had so much control in my life then why am I not already where I want to be? Now, that was food for thought. So now being almost forty I am learning more in my life now then I have ever learned before. I also realize that aside from eating right in order to feel better I need to get some activity in my life and I have got to get more rest. So it is time to step it up!!! When faced with a challenge, confront it.
Day 7-Walk-Like I told you earlier the Word for the day was not to do anything out of vain conceit or esteem yourself higher than others! I remember a time years ago when this scripture was far from me. I used to think I was all that!! I was never as big as I am now so when I was younger I had a nice little figure. I made very good money and I would always buy the nicest clothes and my hair would always be flawless. The only reason I took this much time to look good is because every day that I went to work or was in the presence of people I always wanted them to say, "Wow you look amazing!" or "What do you have on today!" I now realize this was vanity. So I went through some challenging times in my life got laid off and had no money. When my husband and I lost my home and we had to move in with my mother the biggest part of the move was my clothes!! This was humbling. I was humiliated that I put that much stock into pleasing man and living for myself. I tell people that was when I truly began my walk with Christ. When you lose everything, you have nothing more to lose and for me it was the beginning of my search to know who God was! So now I really try to humble myself and you do not hear me bragging as much as I used to because that is not pleasing to God. My life is now dedicated to encouraging others and allowing them to see their worth! I am so blessed and honored that God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life!!!(John 3:16).  Even though salvation is freely given I feel like I owe it to God to do right in my life. And I am blessed to have wonderful angels in my life that keep me grounded! With all of us supporting each other we will all make it Heaven!
Day 7-Wins!-I did not cuss today. I encouraged someone today. I accepted a test from God today with a good attitude! I did not argue with my daughter today. I have not given up on my dream no matter how far away it seems.
Each day we have to choose who we are going to serve, God or man. There is only one decision that is the right one! Enjoy your day and remember, the 3w's are worth working for!!!

Day 6-Weight -Hello everyone!!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!! I sure did. We celebrated my husband's birthday and I got to visit my new nephew who was born 2 weeks ago! It made me realize how important family is. I began to think about my family. Sometimes I do not sit back and appreciate that they are still in my life. Sometimes I only focus on our lack of communication or my children’s disobedience but I am blessed to have both of my children with me in my life (no matter how challenging they may be). I am still married to my husband (with ALL the things we have been through) and we were told we would never make it! My mom and dad are both still alive and in my life! Not to mention my nieces and nephews from both of my younger brothers!! It is important to reflect sometimes how blessed we really are. So you are wondering about my weekend right? So, I did not record what I ate this weekend because that is what I have decided to do but, I managed to stay on the up and up. I was careful about the choices I made and I was not as quick to jump into just eating anything. Also, Saturday night for my husband's birthday he and I got away on our own and went dancing! Now, I know you look at my weight and think really? But I have got to tell you, big girl can get down! And don't play the fabulous eighties because I will be on the dance floor all night long! What was so much fun is I realized my husband loves for me to have a smile on my face and joke around and laugh. There is this certain sparkle in his eyes when I am having fun that makes me blush. Remember I told you in an earlier post that one of my dreams is that my husband desire me! Well, when he looks at me like that I know he does. He was flirting with me and actually got up and danced with me. This is very significant because if you know my husband he is not a dancer. He is one of those cool dudes that just nods his head!LOL!!!! But his desire for me on Saturday made him get up and dance and hold me most of the night! I just grinned from ear to ear. It is a wonderful feeling to enjoy your marriage, not just be in it!! And as for all the dancing, it was a workout. So I know eventually I have got to get to the next phase which is to work out, but I am not going to rush anything. I have got to first master self-control with my eating and all the other things will fall into place.
Day 6-Walk-Today I started my day with prayer of thanksgiving! Now I always start my prayer that way but this morning was just dedicated to being thankful to God! And the Word for me today was out of Thessalonians and it was about how important it is to be a peacemaker and to speak against that which is wrong, but to do it with patience and love. Each day I get a Word it always seems like I am challenged on it. So today someone that is an assignment in my life came at me in a tempting way. (That entire statement was in code), but if you are a spiritual being you will be able to discern it!!! LOL!! I wanted to respond fleshly to the things that were said to me, but I focused on that scripture and remembered that I have to have great patience, just like the Lord demonstrates to me. So instead of letting my pride take over, I swallowed it and responded to my assignment in a Godlike manner. But in my mind I did talk a little smack but, I did not let it depart from my lips. Like I have told you all I am still a work in progress!!!
Day 6-My Wins-I listened to God today, I encouraged someone today, I demonstrated patience today, I lost weight last week no matter how small it was, I have not given up on my weight or my walk, I have not given up on this blog yet, I shared something about the Bible today. I smiled today.
This lifestyle is always to be continued. Each day that you complete the same things you begin to become more and more aware of what you are doing wrong. I am learning more and I am beginning to think more about hasty decisions that I used to make. You have to count it all joy! The good and the bad in your life! The good shows you God is real and the bad shows you that you can only lean on Him! He is the one constant in our lives! My prayer is that I stay consistent in my life and that my deliverance will happen! Keep praying for me as I continue to pray for you! And remember the 3 w's are worth working for!!! You all have a wonderful day!!

Day 3-Pressing On

Menu-Breakfast-Tangerine
Lunch-Low Calorie Harvest Chicken Salad with tomatoes, lettuce, apples, craisins, cucumbers and low calorie Acai Vinaigrette Dressing.
Snack-1 oz of unsalted peanuts and raisins
Dinner-Shrimp and Spinach Tomato Tortellini with 32 ozs of water
Dessert-Small Slice of Banana Nut Bread
Day 3 Weight-Hello All!!!! Menu is looking much better today isn't it? What did it show me? That no matter what mistakes you make it is never too late to get it together! And of course today I started my day with prayer. The Word for today was about how to deal with unfairness on your job. It referenced a scripture that came out of the Book of Proverbs. Basically, it said that anything you do should be done heartily as it pleases God not man. It was more of a reference for unfair practices in the workplace such as getting mad if you are not recognized for your hard work or being angry that you were not promoted. But, I was attributing it to making my temple (body) the best possible body it can be. That means working hard to overcome distractions with eating and pushing myself to work out so that I can be in the best shape possible. And not because I want to look good and be envied but because God will be pleased with me taking care of the body He blessed me with! The scripture allowed me to feel strong throughout the day because I kept thinking about it. So it was a little harder today to choose to eat pizza or a greasy burger because that was not giving God my best. It does not mean I will never eat another burger it just means I will work hard to make smarter choices which in time will become a habit and then my lifestyle will be that of eating right exercising and losing weight. Then I can encourage others to do the same. I felt empowered today and was glad I did not get defeated from my “gorge-fest” on yesterday.
Day 3 Walk-So today a friend asked me a question about the Bible! I was stunned. I have never really talked to this person about church or God so I wondered why she chose me so, I asked her. She basically said because she felt like I would know. Wow! Did you know that someone is always watching what you do? Some people think if they walk around saying they are saved that this will impress others. But, people really see if you practice what you preach. My friend does not even go to church that much so she is really looking for someone she can trust to lead her in the right direction. I was honored and I really listened to her question and took my time to answer it. This is not a brag. For me it helped me to stay on the straight and narrow. By realizing I am being watched it makes me want to be even more obedient.
Day 3 Wins-I did not lie today. I stuck with my plan. I gave a testimony today. I finished an assignment at work. I did not get offended today. I shared something today with someone I do not trust. I prayed for my mother-in-law about her healing from surgery. I told my family I loved them. I listened to my daughter today. I completed my blog. I called an old friend yesterday and told her I loved her. I laughed with my mom! I am planning a great birthday dinner with my husband tomorrow night!
See, today was another good day. I felt in control of myself and felt like I was following in God's footsteps. I was not perfect because I said one cuss word today, but I am not defeated. I am truly ready to tackle these fears I have and I want to press on as I work to get this weight off of me. I want my husband to desire me and my kids to be proud that I have finally defeated a long time goal!! It will be just the motivation they need to set things in motion in their lives!! Well, I made a decision today to only write in my blog Monday- Friday and rest on the weekends. I really need that time to re-group and refresh and spend quality time with my family. So you all have a great weekend and God willing I will talk with you again on Monday! Don't forget the 3 w's are worth working for!! Do something nice for someone this weekend!!

THIS JUST IN-My husband just walked in the door and said he had a surprise for me!! So I followed him as he asked me to see my surprise and he got me a magnifying mirror!!! I just cried and let me tell you why. For the past 2 weeks I have wanted to get the magnifying mirror. But every time I go to the store I forget to purchase one. But I have had a need for one. God gives you the desires of your heart. So He blessed me by pricking my husband’s heart to get me a mirror. When I asked my husband what made him get it, he told me his answer and it was the same reason why I wanted it!! Talk about being on one accord!! OK so I know it is corny, but I am never too amazed at ALL of God’s blessings!!

Day-2 Challenging Day

Menu-Breakfast-Oatmeal w/ Raisins 32 ozs of water
Lunch-3-piece dark meal with steamed vegetables and creamed spinach
Snack-Almond Granola Bar
Dinner-US Cafe Cheeseburger Combo with fries and Sweet Tea
After Dinner Meal- 10 BBQ Wings
Dessert-Slice of Banana Nut Bread
32 ozs of Water

Day 2 Weight-What is wrong with me?!!!! Am I ever going to get it together? I ate all the wrong things today. Now I can say one of the reasons is because I had nothing prepared to eat today. Preparation is the key. It allows you not to be as tempted to cheat. So it was a day of just picking things up on the go. So one thing I am definitely seeing is there is a problem. However, even though I feel like a failure in my heart I know half the battle is admitting the problem and working on the solution. So today for weight was not a good day, but the hope of a better day tomorrow allows me not to give up. Please keep me in your prayers.
Day2-Walk-I noticed something this morning. I did not pray immediately. I did not get my Word in at the start of my day. Perhaps it was because my husband agitated me this morning. His mother had to go to the hospital this morning for surgery. He told me last night that he was going to go ahead and go to her house to get her things last night so I did not have to get up early in the morning. Well, needless to say, he forgot to mention last night that the plans had changed. So this morning I assumed I had time to get ready and with less than 20 minutes to get ready and a bathroom full of ants that came out of nowhere he wanted me to hurry and get ready. So he was kind of snapping at me. Well, I did not cuss him out but I had quite a few unpleasant thoughts in my head. But, I guarded my mouth and tried to re-channel my negative energy. So, when I got to work I began working and forgot to pray. I thought about it almost an hour into work so I picked up my daily Word to see what today's word was all about. Still on wisdom. So I meditated on it for a few moments and just thought about life. It is so important to have understanding. Whether it is about God, people, job materials, etc. If you understand your objective it is easier to resolve your issue. In all things gain understanding. So the challenge for me in relationships is thinking to deep. I need to step back and get to know people and what their make up is. Getting a better understanding of them will help me better communicate and understand their point of view. It is not about agreeing with everyone it is about appreciating people for who they really are and truly caring about them even if it is differs from your ways. So my walk purpose is to gain understanding in everything so that I can tackle some of the obstacles. This is great when dealing with spouses. It is important to understand your mate and then you will understand how to deal with them.
Day 2- Wins-Someone disrespected me and I smiled any way. I listened to someone give me advice that I did not want to hear and I humbled myself to welcome what they were saying and acknowledged to them how important it meant to me even though it stung me inside. I did not lie today about ALL the things I ate. I laughed today. I had a great talk with my son today. I complimented my husband. I praised my daughter. I changed my thoughts today when doubt began to creep in. I got a blessing from my landlord today!!
Today was a miss day, but I am still encouraged. I had just as many wins today as I had misses. This is important to see because if I look only at the first part listed above I would just want to give up. But looking at the bottom allows me to see that my accomplishments are an encouraging sign to press on. Soon each day is going to be filled with victories on the bottom and smaller failures on the top. I am going to be what God has called me to be one of these good ol' days! And I am still excited about that. Please continue to join me on this journey God willing tomorrow and remember the 3w's are worth working for!!! Be blessed and have a goodnight!!

Weight for Day 1- I got on the scale to see where I would be starting this journey. To my disappointment, I was a whopping 342.4lbs!!!! Are you kidding me?!!! I am huge!!! You know I have always heard that when you write things down they will become so clear to you. No wonder I feel so miserable sometimes and tired!! I have got 2 people to lug around all day. Is there anyone out there like me that is feeling my pain?!!!  So this morning I started my day with a daily word. It was about wisdom. I thought hard about that. It is going to take wisdom to really understand how I got to this to point. It is going to take understanding to accomplish this long time goal. I am realizing that most of the time I am eating out of boredom. Lately we have been so busy at work that I do not have time to eat so that distraction keeps me busy. I also realize that by writing my thoughts down and expressing how I am feeling allows me to see exactly where my shortcomings are. So today I felt a small sense of accomplishment. At night is the most tempting when it comes to eating so I have got to make sure that I keep myself distracted until it is time to go to bed and I have got to beat these late night cravings. Prayer will be focused on that aspect of my life. I am determined to put God first in everything I do BEFORE the New Year starts and for the rest of my life. It should have been this way any way.
Walk for Day 1-Today I started my day with the Word of God. I really find that when I do that I am more grounded and tend to be more obedient. I feel like today was a good day. I felt very comfortable at work today as I really focused on pleasing my customers. I stayed organized and productive with the massive amount of work our group currently has. I had a great conversation with someone who is looking at everything I do as it relates to God. She asks me questions and just looks to me for encouragement. I felt like I was truly God led when we talked today. I did not get in any arguments with my kids, co-workers, friends or husband. My thoughts remained steady and positive. It was a good day.
Wins Day 1-Today I completed all of my emails for today. I completed tonight's blog. I encouraged someone today. I did not cuss. I did not lust after anyone. I did not think defeat today. I focused on my daily goal for today.
I can already see the benefit of writing your thoughts down. I am so excited to see my growth during this journey and to compare how I am talking now and what is to come. Thank you for growing with me and God willing we will continue this journey tomorrow. And remember the 3w's are worth working for! Be blessed.

Getting Started

Hello all you purpose-driven detectives!!!! This blog is for those of you that are searching and seeking your purpose in life!! I am Angela Foxworth and I am the host of "The Truth of the Matter Talk Show."  I also write "The Truth of the Matter Blog." I am so interested in living right and following the Word of God and that is why I began "The Truth of the Matter." But as you all know once you begin to follow the Word of God, He reveals things about you that you may have never realized needed to be addressed. I believe this is how you get to the core of the issues you have that require deliverance. That is what this blog is all about. I am dedicating 365 days to discovering my path to weight loss, my Christian walk and the wins that I accomplish daily. So join me each day as I try to get my temple (body) in the best shape possible. Each day I am going to journal what I have eaten and how I feel in hopes that someone will go through this journey with me. It is so hard to be vulnerable about things that are uncomfortable but I am hoping this will be the open door that I have needed for a long time to accomplish this long time goal. I am going to write daily about my Christian walk. Why does it seem so hard sometimes to live right? I hate feeling like that. Each morning I wake up blessed to have another day to get my obedience right and live sin-free and by the end of the day I am no more delivered than an atheist! Why? If I know The Word what is preventing me from living it? Maybe accountability is the key. So I am asking that as you read this blog any suggestions that you have to live better I would love for you to give me some input about it. It is often good to know that you are not the only one that goes through these trials. I will be discussing daily what I go through at work, at home and in my community. And of course let’s not forget our wins!! Do you know that you win almost every day and never celebrate it? Each time that God has helped you in life for ANY accomplishment is a win. If you went a whole day without cussing. That is a win! Stuck to eating right the entire day is a win! Sometimes we get so caught up with our daily troubles that we forget to celebrate the accomplishments. I am hoping as I take this journey I will realize the more wins I have the more faith I will use to get delivered and make a difference in this world. My only goal is life is to be the absolute best possible me I can be!! So join me in this journey and hopefully we will all learn together!!! Be blessed and welcome! My Walk, My Weight and My Wins...the three w's worth working for!!!
